My grandparents are the ones who influence me the most. This is a picture of when they got married. They have been married for 31 years. At one point they lived together, but my mom decided she wanted to come to America. So my grandparents had to separate. My grandfather stayed in Poland, and my grandma came with my mom & aunt to America. They have been in a long distance relationship for as long as I can remember. Of course, he visits her every summer & stays for like 6 months. When they greet each other, their the most happiest they can ever be. & When its time to say goodbye, it hurts me to watch them cry. They have been together for so long, and they still manage to get the distance done. My grandfather was always a happy guy, always willing to do anything, but recently he got sick. The doctors say it might be cancer. The minute my grandmother found out, she immediately  bought a plane ticket so she can be with him. I drove her to the airport 2 nights ago. I called my grandpa the next day to make sure she made it to him safe. His exact words… “Yeah, she’s here with me. I picked her up, and cooked her dinner and were eating, everything is better because shes here” This seriously brought tears to my eyes. Hopefully his surgery goes well. Their going to be together now for a month, since shes going to be taking care of him. I know my grandmother will take good care of him. He’s in good hands now. Once she comes back from Poland, she’s going to continue working, but once she retires from work, she’s planning on moving back to Poland, to be w/ the love of her life.

These two people mean the world to me. I’m in a long distance relationship for about a year now, and seeing my grandparents together, makes me believe that long distance can actually work out. For all the LDR out there, always believe! Think positive! & Make it possible to get done! Because its worth it in the end. Never loose hope!
