I’ve never made it this far or this long with someone, but our path together is becoming clearer every time we make that deep connection. Although it has been a very difficult journey, the pain and struggle has allowed us to change and maturely grow to who we are today. He has outlasted all the other guys I have ever dated or even been with. I have to admit I was insecure. I was always the one that threatened to leave or break up with him because honestly I was scared he might do the same. Because of all the guys that took advantage of me or left me in the past, my emotions developed a huge pride that would protect myself and push people away. But not him. In the end, I always run back to him when I realize my mistake for hurting him and realize the true value of our relationship.

You know the mind and body’s automatic response “fight or flight” when one is in a stressful situation? I tend to run away while he chooses to stay and fight. He never gave up on me, and for that I am thankful. I am grateful for his positive outlook towards the big picture. He has placed so much hope and faith on me that no one else has done. No one was willing to give me a chance but him. He deserves all the credit in the world for making the effort to mend and fix things. Just like from the movie we saw together “Brave”, he mends the bond torn with pride.

Our relationship is not perfect to say the least. We argued and fought so much…hurt each other. But it only made us stronger and allowed us to understand one another. Feelings do change but they never come and go. I may be feeling in love with him right now and feel differently the next day. It’s human nature. But the big picture is that we will always be there for each other through thick and thin.

We’re in love with each other so deep that nothing else matters anymore. We are finally on that next level. Our bond is stronger. I have no more doubts about this person and what he has to offer. His profound expression of love and affection towards me has given me all the self esteem and confidence in the world…something that has been lacking throughout my life. For that I belong to him. I love him and I am ready to be with him faithfully for the rest of my life.
